Dear everyone.

This year Mawlid an-Nabiy (the birthday of prophet Muhammad pbuh*) fall on Thursday, 28th September 2023.

Before we proceed on sharing about the celebration, we would like to wish all those who are celebrating “Salam Mawlid An -Nabi.”

Since Maulid an-Nabi is a public holiday for Kedah, we celebrated this day on Friday, 29th September 2023. This year, the Maulid celebration was organised by the intern teachers led by Mr. Ghofiqi.

Mawlid celebration

The Mawlid celebration only involved Muslim students. Non Muslims students carried out Charater Building Activities that we will write about in our next post.

The celebration started after assembly with Mr. Yahafin’s welcoming speech. Then, Ms. Fadhilah gave a short speech. After that Mr. Ghofiqi briefed the students about the life of Prophet Muhammad, highlighting his good characters. Hopefully, our students can apply these good characters and habits in their life. During the briefing, Mr. Ghofiqi also recited some Quranic verse that explains Prophet Muhammat (pbuh*) character.

Next, all the male intern teachers performed salawat and qasidah. Salawat are prayers or praises for the prophet. Meanwhile, qasidah is an arabic word for poetry. The qasidah performed are related to the prophet life as well as expressing the longings towards meeting the prophet.

Students then had a short break followed by short videos presentation and competitions. Our lower primary students had a colouring competition. Simultaneously, our upper primary students sat for written quiz competition. Afterwards, students enjoyed a nasheed performance from our intern teachers with accompaniment by Mr. Taufiq and Mr. Azli.

Finally, all students gathered for the prize giving ceremony. We would like to congratulate all students for their active participation during the celebration. Kudos to students who won the prizes as well!

As the celebration concludes, we hope that everyone involve gets inspired to keep improving and become the better version of themselves.
