AIUIS Malaysia Day Celebration

Every year, Malaysians celebrate Malaysia day on the 16th of September.

This year, AIU International School had a Malaysia Day celebration on Monday, 18th September.

Prior to the event, students were advised to wear traditional costumes and attire in Jalur Gemilang’s colours; red, blue, white and yellow. As a results, we see many attractive costumes. Some of them resembling Malay warriors meanwhile, some resembled the princesses.

We started the celebration after breakfast. We had a parade starting from AIU Chancellery Building to Taman PKNK. This parade was joined by the whole AIU community. While the weather was quite hot and challenging for our students, with the supports from the whole AIU community, our students were able to finish the parade well. We would also like to thank the community in Taman PKNK for their cheers and supports during the parade. You can see snippets of our Malaysia Day parade in our Facebook page

After the parade, our students watched a patriotic movie. This movie helped them to better understand the spirit of unity and love towards one’s country.

Since our students regained their strength during the movie, our celebration continued with traditional games. Female students played Batu Seremban meanwhile male students played Tuju Selipar. Additionally, our lower primary students participated in Malaysia Day colouring competition. They really enjoyed the traditional games and competition.

Finally, we held a prize giving ceremony to appreciate all students for their active participations.

It is thanks to everyone that we had a wonderful Malaysia Day celebration. Although Malaysia Day has passed, we hope the spirit of unity will stay strong among us all.
