Hajj Programme

Hajj simulation programme was held on Thursday 16th August 2018. The objectives of this programme were to teach the students about the 5 pillars of Islam and to educate them a significant aspect of Hajj is that it removes all markers of class, wealth and materialism, which is why the pilgrims dress in simple cloth for the duration of the pilgrimage. Men wrap themselves in two pieces of white cloth called the ihram, which also means the sacred state. 

Students were taught on how to wear the Ihram, follow the route hajj – heading to Mina, spend the night at Muzdalifah, throw pebbles at the three pillars, make tawaf around Ka’abah and perform Safa and Marwa.
